My degree is going to be in Rhetoric and Composition with a focus on classical rhetoric. I'm currently trying to decide on whether to continue for a PhD, most likely in 18th century/gothic literature, or a second MA in library science.

I love Tim Burton movies too. 9 looks like its going to be really great.

Sigh...the sparkly vampires : ) I have a love/hate relationship with them. I couldn't put the books down but I hated every minute of it.

I love all the writers you mentioned. Neil Gaiman is pretty much my hero. I also love Tim Burton movies as well. I can't wait for his version of Alice in Wonderland! Alan Rickman as the caterpillar is especially exciting. ;)

  7. What is your favorite modern book? Contemporary, or modern? Contemporary, hmm, might have to go with Jeanette Winterson, Art and Lies. Modern, probably Gatsby; maybe Portrait of the Artist or Orlando.

  8. Who is your favorite writer? At the moment, Hardy.

  9. Where are you right now? In my living room.

  10. What are your hobbies? Besides reading: fandom (I've been a slash fan for many years), singing, cooking. Someday when we have a larger place I'd like to do more scrapbooking, but it seems to be one of those hobbies that needs more space than I have.

  11. What are your favorites? My favorite movies are Claire of the Moon, Stealing Beauty, and Velvet Goldmine. My favorite tv shows are Highlander, The Professionals, and The L-Word. I love the Home and Garden channel, too, and PBS. :)

I also hated pink growing up for the same reason (I was...ok still am, a Tomboy), but have realized I actually quite like the color as an adult, even though I still don't like frills and tutus.

Yes, Peter S. Beagle wrote the screen play for the movie so it follows the book rather closely. He has an amazing grasp of language, certainly one of my favorite writers of all time. And a very nice guy :)

You absolutely need to see it in the theater. I mean, I'm definitely going to buy it when it comes out on DVD, but it's just one of those epic movies that seeing it on the big screen is the only way to do it justice.
